Welcome to WUFA!
______________________________________________________
WUFA is a democratic, membership-based organization of academics and librarians working with others and for themselves to promote their rights and improve the quality of academic life at the University of Windsor. WUFA is the certified bargaining agent for all faculty, librarians, sessional members and ancillary academic staff at the University of Windsor. The Association represents approximately 990 members of the bargaining unit.
The Faculty Association (WUFA) office is located in a charming older home at 366 Sunset Street, called the Kerr House (beside the Faculty of Education building) on the University of Windsor campus, ajacent to the Detroit River in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
What does WUFA do for its members?
WUFA represents all academic staff and librarians at the University of Windsor. We represent all stages of your career whether you are employed on a permanent or limited term contract, full-time or sessional appointment, tenure-track or tenured, arriving or departing.
WUFA protects your rights by offering you help and support with all aspects of your working life, from signing a contract through to your pension, maternity or other leaves, promotion or tenure, discipline or illness. When you encounter problems in your working life, we can assist you.
WUFA negotiates on your behalf for across-the-board benefit improvements, pension and salary increases, and improved working conditions.
WUFA influences university policies by meeting regularly with administration to discuss and work on important policy issues which affect all of our working lives.
WUFA is your link to the academic world because we actively work with our colleagues at other universities throughout Ontario and Canada to help ensure that your concerns and issues are heard at the provincial and national levels.
WUFA saves you money because its members qualify for a number of perks - such as fitness club discounts or reduced rates on various services - just by being a member.
WUFA invites you to Join Us by filling out the membership form at the bottom of this page. You must be a University of Windsor Faculty or Librarian bargaining unit member to join. Members receive regular communications about current issues and have a direct say in developing our policies. Non-members benefit from WUFA negotiations, but have no say in the decision-making bodies of the Association.

The Faculty Association's President is Professor Brian E. Brown, Visual Arts, who was elected in the spring of 2012 to serve the membership during the 2012-14 academic years. Ten other elected officers and an Associate Member representing the Retirees’ Association (WURA) constitute the Executive Committee of the Association. Under the provisions of the Collective Agreement, all faculty and librarians working at the University of Windsor must be in the bargaining unit and are required to pay dues. All faculty and librarians working at the University can elect to become members of the Faculty Association by signing a membership form, there is no extra fee to do so. Sessional Instructors are encouraged to join the Faculty Association. Dues are paid on a mill rate basis ($9.85 per $1,000 earned).
