After the teams met until near midnight yesterday, both parties met today for approximately an hour and a half on issues surrounding Competitive Employment Support That Meets Need. Despite discussion, the administration has yet to table a monetary package for consideration. WUFA awaits response to thirteen unheard articles that were proposed at the beginning of bargaining. Fewer than 30 hours to go and much work remains.

Despite promises of a monetary presentation Saturday, and then Sunday at noon, the WUFA Negotiating Team received a first glimpse at the employer's monetary proposals as part of a comprehensive proposal only 1.5 hours before the mutually agreed deadline. This came at the end of a very unproductive couple of days. The WUFA Negotiating Team offered the employer an opportunity to resume bargaining in earnest on Tuesday, which was accepted. Should a tentative agreement not be achieved on Tuesday, talks will resume not sooner that August 23, 2021.

There was a marathon bargaining session overnight on August 3-4 which resulted in no agreement the morning of August 4th. In good faith, WUFA provided an extra day to try to settle on a productive collective agreement. However, with the events that unfolded at the last moment, we informed the employer that we will see them on the 23rd of August.

The WUFA Negotiating Team met with the Employer’s Team this afternoon for the first time since Wednesday. The Employer’s response to proposals relating to Workload and Work Recognition were a disappointment. Bargaining will resume Monday at 11:00 am after the Employer’s Team indicated that they are unavailable to bargain earlier in the day.

WUFA's Negotiating Team announced the parties have reached a tentative 4-year collective agreement (2021-2025). Information regarding the process and timing of ratification to be announced in the near future.
