WUFA Supports Ontario’s Teachers

February 20, 2020

WINDSOR, ON – The Windsor University Faculty Association (WUFA) calls on the provincial government to reverse the cuts in education funding, negotiate in good faith with the four teachers’ unions, and invest in strengthening our schools and ensuring our children receive the best education possible.

On Friday, February 21, elementary and secondary teachers and education workers will stand up to the Ford government’s education cuts by participating in a one-day walkout across the province. The one-day strike will highlight educators’ demands that the government reverse its plans to cut education funding, increase class sizes, and introduce mandatory e-learning.

The Windsor University Faculty Association stands with Ontario’s teachers in their defense of our education system. “Teachers and education workers are leading this important fight to resist cuts that harm our children, weaken our schools, and damage our economy,” said WUFA President Peter Zimmerman. “Windsor University Faculty Association members will stand with local teacher’s tomorrow and in future as the struggle continues.”

The Windsor University Faculty Association represents 1,100 faculty, librarians, and academic staff employees of the University of Windsor.
