GR# 1030 - Improper Appointment of Senate members to Board of Governors

Nature of Dispute: Improper appointment of Senate members to the Board of Governors (BoG)

Result of Grievance: The grievance was denied by the University at Step 3 on May 18, 2023. The denial cited December 2006 Senate minutes in which a legal opinion was shared that supported the University's position that deans and associate deans are "teaching staff" as defined in the University of Windsor Act. WUFA will remain vigilant to ensure that the deans and associate deans who are part of the Board of Governors remain active in teaching or research to qualify as "teaching staff".
