Faculty Council

Faculty Council is composed of faculty, librarians, AAS, and sessional members elected annually by their colleagues in proportion to the size of the constituency they represent. Council meets monthly to discuss matters affecting the Association, develop new policies, review reports, create and elect committees, and act on behalf of the Association between general membership meetings.  Members of the Executive are automatically members of Faculty Council. Councillors are responsible for informing their colleagues about WUFA business and bringing members’ concerns to the attention of the Association.

Winter 2026 Meeting Schedule

**Notice of Motions – Faculty Council**

Members of Council wishing to make motions at Council shall normally submit a notice of motion to the Executive Director by the first of each month for inclusion on the proposed agenda for that month’s meeting. 

1. After the first of the month, notice of motion may be received up to six days prior to the meeting. Such notice of motion shall be circulated to Council and will be included in the agenda proposed for that meeting.
2. In exceptional circumstances, when the matter cannot reasonably be delayed, a notice of motion by a member of Council submitted just prior to the Council meeting may be included in the proposed agenda for that meeting, at the discretion of the Chair.
