Important Victory for WUFA in the Mercer Arbitration
On August 24th Arbitrator Pamela Piche issued her ruling in our policy grievance against the administration in the matter of the independence of the Pension Plan’s actuary, Mercer.
Why Mercer must be replaced
WUFA members are concerned about the lack of independence between the Administration and Mercer, the pension plan actuary. Our pension plan requires the actuary to be independent of the Administration. Nonetheless, the Administration hired Mercer to provide it with private collective bargaining advice during the 2011 round of negotiations.
Ontario universities and faculty associations are anxiously awaiting the government’s decision on the new funding formula for post-secondary education.

We are excited to feature the multi-faceted ways in which the work of WUFA members contributes to the growth and development of the University of Windsor and in our community. We believe that this work, and the faculty who perform it, deserve to be recognized and celebrated.
Why WUFA Matters
Advocacy, fairness, support, collectivity: when WUFA Council members describe the organization, these terms arise over and over again. From across the University's various faculties and programs, Council members emphasize the vital importance of the Faculty Association for the wellness and betterment of the University of Windsor.
